For almost two years now, I have been an absolute devotee to the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors – in fact, I fully consider the shade Rosewood to be my ultimate holy grail everyday lip product. So when I got my hands on the new, nourishing lip balm version, aptly named Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector*, I was suitably excited.

Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector launches this month as part of the brand’s Spring makeup collection, Garden Escape. The beauty world seems to be going pretty wild for another lip product in the collection, Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil, but to me the idea of a lip oil just seems a bit alien… so as far as I’m concerned, these high end lip balms are where it’s at.
In a similar vein to the barely-there approach of the original Instant Light glosses, these impart a hint of tint to the lips while providing all the moisturisation and comfort of a proper lip balm. Sounds like any other run-of-the-mill tinted lip balm, right? Well… it basically is. But come on, you know Clarins – it’s so much more luxurious than that.
The formula is enriched with extracts of wild mango and shea, and tons of vitamin E so it’s definitely not short on hydration potential. Add that indulgent, melting balm formula to some sleek and classy Clarins packaging and you’ve got yourself one fancy lip product. Rosewood is naturally my favourite, and it hasn’t left my side since I got it. Top marks, but pricey nonetheless.
If you’ve got money to burn on what is essentially an expensive tinted lip balm, you can grab these for £18 each – there are six shades to choose from – on counter and online.
