They Only Want Me For My Body

It’s true! Anatomicals, I mean. That’s their slogan – We only want you for your body. Duh ;)

Anatomicals They Only Want Me For My Body

When I was contacted a few weeks ago to ask if I’d like to sample one of Anatomicals new body butters, it frankly couldn’t have come at a better time. I don’t know if it’s the change in atmosphere from moving to London, but my skin has been doing all sorts of weird things – oily breakouts followed by unusual dry patches on my face, which doesn’t normally happen, and even more bizarrely the skin on my arms has suddenly got REALLY dry. Not all over, just loads of little dry patches dotted all over. SO not nice! I’ve never suffered from dry skin before, so I have no idea what suddenly happened.

So, as I was saying, I very gratefully received this new Anatomicals body butter called Churned Out Nice Again (hehe, I see what you did there). I am absolutely enamoured with the scent – Italian Lemon and Lavender?! What an amazing combination, I can’t believe no one’s ever thought of it before! Well, I’m sure they have, but not in anything I’ve ever seen. It’s really lush though – the citrus hit of lemon coupled with the relaxing notes of lavender smells good enough to eat. I’ve always been a lover of lavender, I sometimes have trouble unwinding and lavender is always the best remedy for that. Despite the Italian twist of lemon in this, it’s definitely not invogorating since the lavender is the dominant fragrance, which makes this a perfect pre-bedtime treat.

I’m also really fond of the texture of this, it’s rich but doesn’t feel heavy and sinks into the skin quickly so you don’t have to wait ages before getting in your jimjams! And most importantly, it’s really helping the dry patches on my arms. Winner.

Along with that truly gorgeous body butter, I was sent the new Never Lose Your Cherry lipbalm. You KNOW I’m a lip balm fiend so this pleased me greatly! Anatomicals lip balms feature Vitamin E (which is a top ingredient for me in anything, frankly), beeswax, sweet almond oil (yum) and SPF15 (bonus). I love the scent of this – I’ve never managed to find a cherry lip balm which isn’t tainted with something else! I hate the menthol-ness of Carmex cherry, and whilst I’m pretty fond of Lip Smackers Cherry Cola, I’ve often found myself longing for a pure, unadulterated cherry lip balm. It appears this is it! It sinks in to the lips quite nicely and keeps them feeling soft and moisturised for a good few hours before I feel the need to reapply. Anatomicals have also bought out a new banana flavoured lip balm along with this one, called ‘Our Lip Balm Is Better Than Yours Ba na na na na na’ – brilliant, quite frankly. I’m VERY excited by this as I’ve never actually had a banana flavoured lip balm before and will be hot footing it down to my local John Lewis to snap one up as soon as possible.

Anatomicals is available on Asos.com and in John Lewis stores. The body butters cost £5 and the lip balms £2.49 – bargain! And as always, being sent these products doesn’t affect my honest opinion. My first taste of Anatomicals has left me craving more, so I can’t wait to explore more products in the range. Even if they do only want me for my body.
