There’s just 55 days to go until IMATS graces England’s capital again. I can’t BELIEVE how quickly the year has gone, only feels like a couple of weeks since I attended the 2010 show!
I am of course going again for the 2011 show, on the Saturday. I was excited last time but this time I am even more so as I have the chance to meet so many more amazing bloggers! Do let me know if you’re coming, you can tweet me @donotrefreeze and we can have an excitable natter!
The line up for the 2011 show is shaping up nicely, with a sizeable exhibitor list which is still being added to. Brands making an appearance (and hopefully offering monster discounts) include the following:
:: Charles Fox: You should know by now how much I love them. If, by some miracle, you don’t, then look here! Kryolan galore, I can’t wait.
:: Crown Brush: Seriously, if you’ve never tried them before… you’re missing out. Crazy good quality at crazy low prices, I can’t wait to stock up again!
:: Dermalogica and Embryolisse: Some of the most reputable skincare in the biz – I skipped over them last time but after hearing good things I’ll be taking a look.
:: Eve Pearl: I remember Sarah buying a beautiful nude lipstick from the brand last year, I think it was called Nude Beach. Dying to check out the rest of the lipsticks from this range.
:: Hakuhodo: For those who’ve got the money, it appears that investing in a couple of these other-worldly brushes could be the smartest move you’ll ever make, brush wise.
:: Inglot: Yes, you read that right. Last time I checked the list, this wasn’t on there, so they must have only recently signed up but HOLY CRAP. I can’t wait. I would have travelled to Shepherd’s Bush on the show day just to grab some more but now they’re going to be there! I predict a sell out of a lot of products, so get there early.
:: MAC/MAC Pro: A classic, of course.
:: The Makeup Artist Boutique: A wonderful online store making an appearance – a stockist of OCC Lip Tars and Yaby Cosmetics. Definitely going to be trying out some Yaby!
:: Naked Cosmetics: I’m not usually one for using pigments, but the ones by Naked are seriously beautiful. They have some jaw dropping duochromes that I’m looking forward to having a swatch of!
:: Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics: I may have to accidentally buy a few more lip tars since they’ve released a whole bunch more shades since the last show, and they were a bargainous £7 each before. Also holding out hope they might bring some polishes this time!
:: PAM (Makeup Artist Provisions): Well known UK stockist of Make Up Forever. I didn’t buy any last time, but definitely plan to try at least one thing next time just to see what I think.
:: Sleek MakeUP: Yay! A firm drugstore favourite among almost all UK bloggers. If there’s a discount, I’ll definitely be grabbing some bits for you guys to give away. It would be amazing if they had some of the discontinued Limited Edition palettes, too… a girl can dream, right?
:: Temptu: If you’re interested in anything airbrush, this is the stand you’ll want to hit.
Of course, the list extends way beyond those above, but they are the ones I’m most excited about right now. And it’s not just about a giant makeup shopping spree – the International Makeup Artist Trade Show is a fantastic place to learn, too. Both show days boast some impressive speakers (no Alex Box this year, though, at least as far as I know) to watch and learn from, but be aware that capacity for talks is very limited so get there dead early if there’s someone you want to see. I didn’t get to see any last year, so I learnt my lesson!
On Saturday you’ll be able to see Eve Pearl on bridal makeup, and the lovely David Klasfeld (mastermind behind OCC – I sat on his knee for a photo last year ;D). There’ll also be a talk from MAC, although the artist and class title are TBC so I’m assuming it won’t be Terry Barber. The student beauty/fantasy competition is on the Saturday afternoon, which I am determined to see this time. The work of some of the rising stars attending the show is just unbelievable.
There’ll be another MAC class on Sunday (again, TBC) and YouTube superstar Lauren Luke will be having a Q&A session. Koren Zander (better known as EnKore Makeup on YouTube) will be speaking on behalf of Naked Cosmetics. Eve Pearl will also be speaking again, this time for Crown Brush. The student character/prosthetic competition will be held, too, which promises to make for interesting viewing. There was some amazing prosthetic work last year. The last speaker on Sunday will be Nick Dudman, veteran of the Harry Potter movies. Fun!

Be there, or be square.
