E.L.F. HD Powder
£6 from E.L.F.. How can you go wrong? Gives a beautiful finish to any foundation and keeps me reasonably shine free even in this sweltering city humdity. Works seriously well with Revlon PhotoReady foundation to cancel out the hint of sparkle if that’s not your thing!
Boots Botanics Leave In Volumising Conditioner
A mere £2.93 from Boots stores or the website. I swear by this stuff – I use a lot of salt spray when I wear my hair in its natural curls so a quick spritz of this before the salt spray stops my hair drying out. It smells lovely too, I can’t place the scent but it’s really fresh without being fruity which I like.
Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara
I think about £7.99 from Boots and Superdrug. I have a whole lot of mascaras but this is the one I reach for the most. I would maybe go as far as to call it my HG mascara, mine is starting to dry out and I’m sure I’ll repurchase it which is a first for me, I’m always trying new ones! Gives me nice length and reasonable volume, love the wand too.
Eyeko Graffiti Liner
£5 from Eyeko. I have this in all four colours, felt tips are my favourite kinds of eyeliners and this beats all the others I’ve tried hands down. I use the black one an awful lot, the brown one is gorgeous for days when I don’t fancy the starkness of black, and the purple gets quite a bit of a look in too. I don’t really use the navy one but I’m not a lover of blue on me! One thing I will say is if you have these it’s REALLY important to make sure you click the lid back on properly or they’ll dry out mega fast.
Natural Collection Moistureshine Lipstick
A teeny tiny £1.95 from Boots. These are a lovely formula, and the shade Apple Blossom is the most wonderful nude for me. That’s the only one I have but I’ll probably grab a few more from the range as there looks to be some nice colours and Natural Collection is permanently on an offer of 3 for £5. Only complaint is the white packaging looks cheap but seriously there’s not much to complain about for £1.95 is there?
Lee Stafford Beach Babe Sea Salt Spray
£5.99 from Boots and salons that stock Lee Stafford products. I’ve had people with naturally straight hair tell me this does nothing to give them natural looking waves but my hair is naturally REALLY curly and this just enhances it and gives it a lovely texture. And there’s no chance of the salt drying my hair out when combined with the Boots conditioner spray! Smells GORGEOUS too.
Lush Smitten Hand Cream
£6.10 from Lush stores or the website. Haha jesus, I just had to look up the price and can’t BELIEVE how much it’s gone up since I last bought it (it was £4.95 then, when I used to work there). This is one of the only products I would ever really consider repurchasing from Lush. I’m not a great lover of Lush anymore, their quality has slipped and prices have skyrocketed but this is a really nice hand cream, and if you like the scent of Snowcake, the christmas soap, it smells just like that. Almonds, yummy!
Sally Hansen Hard as Nails
Varies between £4 and £4.50 from Boots, Superdrug and some larger supermarkets. The bottle I have doesn’t look quite like this but ah well. This comes in several different formulas for different nail problems, I use the one for soft and peeling nails. Is a good treatment for the nails and is also my favourite to use as a base coat. Also makes an okay topcoat in a pinch!
Obsessive Compulsive Lip Tars
£8.99 from The Makeup Artist Boutique. People who haven’t tried these never seem to get just how awesome they are. They’re not a gloss AT ALL, if you squeezed the tube onto your lips you’d be buggered. They’re more of a hyperpigmented liquid lipstick and you can mix and match your own custom shades if you have more than one. Amazing versatility, dries down to a pretty satin finish and lasts for HOURS. There’s also a clear one so you can mix it with your favourite pigments etc!
Sleek MakeUP i-Divine Eyeshadow Palettes
Just had a looksie and it appears the price has gone up to £5.99, from the Sleek website and some Superdrug stores. How could we NOT mention these? Absolutely bargainous, the more recent palettes (Graphite, Sunset, Circus) have a much better formula than the older ones which tended to be pretty crumbly, but they apply like butter and have astonishing pigmentation for drugstore eyeshadows. And you get 12 shades in one palette! If you haven’t got at least one Sleek palette, I don’t know what’s wrong with you ;P
Hope you enjoyed and please feel free to rave about some of yours!
